USPA NEWS - The department of English and Foreign Languages of Madanepalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) organized a two-day International conference cum workshop on ‘Language and Literature’ on Oct 14 and 15.

Out of over one hundred participants, 52 from various institutes and universities presented their papers on various thrust areas in this two-day conference cum workshop.
The department of English and Foreign Languages of Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) organized a two-day International conference cum workshop on ‘Language and Literature’ on Oct 14 and 15. The two-day conference cum workshop was conducted to provide a unique international level opportunity to hold an in-depth discussion on recent trends in the field of English literature and English Language Teaching. This program is intended to be helpful for the faculty members, educationalists, and researchers to participate and exchange their valuable thoughts in the field of literature. This aims at contributing towards formulating effective strategies in teaching English Language and to meet the global standards of higher education.
Research scholar Revuri Sandya from SV University presented her paper on ‘Representation of race religion and gender in the novels of Chimammanda Nogzi Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus and Americanah’. In her eight-minute presentation, she highlighted themes such as change, religion, domestic violence, family relationships, silence and speech, nature, freedom and tyranny, americanization, gender and migration from two novels authored by Chimammanda Nogzi Adichie.
Out of over one hundred participants, 52 from various institutes and universities presented their papers on various thrust areas in this two-day conference cum workshop. Resource persons Professor Stephen Krashen, Dr. Abdul Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Dr. Bhaskaran Nair, Dr. Anburaj, Dr. Hari Padma Rani, Dr. Candy Dcunha, orgainizing secretaries and committee members participated in the program.
